I would like to dispel a new myth today:
EVERY TIME YOU SIT DOWN TO CREATE, IT MUST BE A MASTERPIECE.
BAD ART is simply not allowed.
I say phooey.
Here's the thing, we have to give ourselves permission to play and permission to make mistakes. If there is no sketchbook or canvas in our lives that houses our growth as an artist - no SAFE PLACE - we can not improve.
If we do not allow space to create bad art - we WILL NEVER MAKE GOOD ART.
Everyone - always - and I do mean always - starts out with QUALITY in mind. I would like to ask you to switch your focus to QUANTITY.
GOLDEN RULE #2:
Concentrate on QUANTITY (creativity every day) and quality will take care of itself.
I promise.
Spend 15 minutes a day: drawing, painting, knitting- and you will get better at your craft!
